A little bit about Mrs. A...

 

I have been a licensed teacher in ND since December of 2004 and have experience teaching grades K-12.  Throughout my career, I have worked as a private flute & piano instructor, substitute teacher, band director, and general elementary music teacher.  2015-2016 will be my 9th year as a full-time music educator with Bismarck Public Schools. 

 

I hold degrees in Elementary Music Education, Secondary Instrumental Music Education, and Flute Performance.  In addition to my teaching duties, I also serve as President of the Bismarck Education Association.  I am a member of the Bismarck Education Association, North Dakota United, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, the North Dakota Music Education Association and the National Association for Music Education.

 

When I'm not at work, I cherish my time with my family.  My husband, David, is also a teacher and active musician in the community. Our oldest daughter is a 1st grader who loves to dance and read, and our infant daughter loves to snuggle and listen to her big sister sing & play.

 

I love all styles and genres of music, attending my daughter's activities/events, cooking, reading, and I can't start my day without a cup of coffee :)
